Temptations Cafe ~ Nyack, NY
I learned recently from the Wright Bro’s Real Estate Blog that Temptations Cafe is for sale and in fact, has a buyer. Temptations and the good people and great food there, have meant so much to so many here in Nyack, and Temptations will always have special meaning in my life. You see, 10 years ago, when I was a living on 2nd Avenue, I would eat there weekly. Blackened salmon over salad, maybe some nachos, and definitely at least 2 scoops of ice cream on the way out. I was freelancing in photography, working up the street at Casa Del Sol nights and at Baum Imaging Group of Valley Cottage, NY most days, so a great (and cheap) meal was soo appreciated by one with little time, nor skill for cooking.
To me Temptations means even more than great food in an art filled cafe with lots of friendly folks, it is the first place I ever hung a photo show of local and personal work, and from that small exhibit came the next big assignment, and from that, a thus far very fulfilling career in architectural and aerial photography. There are too many great experiences, personal and professional to post here now, but trust me when tell you, the boy from Upstate was getting a lesson in working in, around and above New York City and the Tri-State area. These are the kind of stories… that could keep this blog going a while.
